Zed (ゼッド, Zeddo), also known as the Punk Rock Zombie, is a character in Lollipop Chainsaw. He is one of the Dark Purveyors, and is also the first major boss in the game. His interests include listening to Black Flag and torturing small animals, something which Juliet Starling finds repulsive. Zed is voiced by Jimmy Urine, the lead singer of Mindless Self Indulgence.

Appearance and Personality

Zed dresses with a punk edge, most notably a large red mohawk. Judging by his comments and bio, he seems to be somewhat disturbed.

Story

Zed is the first of the Dark Purveyors to know defeat, Juliet killing him in the Junkyard just minutes after their being summoned from the Rotten World by Swan.

Powers and Abilities

Zed's offence is all musically oriented. His main attack is to twang his guitar, sending out a blast of energy. He is also capable of summoning speakers onto the stage on which the battle plays out; he jumps between these, making counterattacks difficult, so they must be destroyed. Like all Dark Purveyors, he can regenerate if injured, so his health must be worn down several times.

Strategy

It is wise to keep an eye on him during the approach, as he will volley blasts of energy at Juliet while she is fighting and dismantling various machinery, with a view towards whittling down her health before the battle even begins. Once it does, dodge his attacks, get behind him, and counterattack. When he summons speakers, don't bother chasing him until they are all or mostly all destroyed, as he will escape quickly should Juliet veer too close. In the final stage of the battle, he will continue to attack while Juliet cuts up his giant speaker; it's better to dodge an impending attack and then continue cutting than to get hit by it and be interrupted anyway.
