Weller (ウェラー, Weraa) is a character in the video game No More Heroes. He is a member of the United Assassins Association staff who accompanies Sylvia Christel wherever a Ranking Battle takes place, in order to dispose of the losing combatant's body, usually by incineration.
Weller and his partner Talbot appear to be extremes of each other. While Talbot is a silent, lurch of a man, Weller is a fairly short man who, although usually silent, congratulates Touchdown in person after his victory over Bad Girl, as Christel is mysteriously absent from the scene.
In No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle, both Talbot and Weller continue disposing bodies but wearing Hazmat suits.
In No More Heroes 3, the pair makes another return, once again in Hazmat suits. After Travis defeats Gold Joe, Sylvia refers to the both by name for the first time in in-game dialogue. When Travis comments on not having known their names before, Sylvia remarks that "we kind of had to give them names" as the "series is going to keep going".
Trading card[]
Weller appears on one trading card in the Design Materials set of No More Heroes, which is Trading Card No. 149.
Trivia[]
- Weller and his partner Talbot's names may be homages to Paul Weller and Mick Talbot of the British pop band The Style Council.
- When Sylvia first mentions their names in No More Heroes 3, Travis reinforces this idea by responding "Council-style, huh?"
