Killer Is Dead: Nightmare Edition marks the second time a Grasshopper Manufacture game resurfaces on Windows computers, following the Steam reissue of Sine Mora. This edition contains a less forgiving Nightmare difficulty level, bundled Smooth Operator Pack downloadable content and the ability to replay cinematics. Killer Is Dead will be released for Windows on May 9, 2014.

Lily Bergamo will be the first Grasshopper Manufacture project to benefit from GungHo's acquisition of the company, which will result in more prominent online features in a Grasshopper game than ever before. This action game is currently identified as a PlayStation 4 exclusive.

Liberation Maiden, Grasshopper's contribution to the Nintendo 3DS compilation Guild01, is receiving a PlayStation 3-exclusive sequel in the form of Liberation Maiden SIN. The game is being developed without Grasshopper's involvement, save for Suda who is assisting incoming developer 5pb by penning the sequel's storyline scenarios. Suda is also assisting Crispy's in helming Ranko Tsukigime's Longest Day, another PlayStation 3-exclusive title.

Next for Grasshopper!

A third major No More Heroes release is playfully hinted at several times in Grasshopper's latest title Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes. In the game, Jeane mockingly suggests ending the series with Travis Strikes Again and "scrap the plans for that big ol' #3." In a post-credits stage, Travis is later forthright with the player that another game is in development. SUDA51 opened up about this, explaining that the bonus stage was also used by Grasshopper for the research and development of another game.

Sequel-worthy?

Flower, Sun, and Rain was considered for a follow-up around 2009, when SUDA51 admitted he would like to write protagonist Sumio Mondo into a future video game.

Michigan: Report from Hell was an idea SUDA51 spoke of remaking or following with a sequel in 2009.

Director Akira Ueda planned to pursue a Contact sequel without the involvement of Grasshopper Manufacture in 2006. While a sequel has yet to be developed, Ueda confirmed he would like to work with SUDA51 on a second installment.

Composer Akira Yamaoka admitted in 2012 that he was considering a sequel to Shadows of the DAMNED, feeling relatively certain that Grasshopper would have support from Electronic Arts. Years later, the 2019 title Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes rekindled a possible future for the series.

SUDA51 spoke to Polygon of hopes for a Lollipop Chainsaw sequel in 2012. This interview took place before the game's release however and SUDA51 has offered few other words about a second installment, so it is unclear if Lollipop Chainsaw is still considered sequel-material.

SUDA51 described Killer Is Dead as self-contained in 2013, however he is open to directing a sequel if there is "enough demand from fans all over the world."
