A slash is a technique in both installments of the No More Heroes video game series performed by pressing the A Button. Slashes are the most prevalent form of combat in the game. So long as the first slash hits an enemy, a Slash Combo is guaranteed or very likely to occur if the player repeatedly presses the A Button. Certain times may require a particular Slashing Stance in order to damage an enemy successfully, such as using a High Slashing Stance against an enemy who guards low, or a Low Slashing Stance against an enemy who guards high.
Slashes may be used to trigger Slash Combos or Weapon Clashes, as well.
