Short Peace: Ranko Tsukigime's Longest Day (SHORT PEACE -月極蘭子のいちばん長い日-, Short Peace: Tsukigime Ranko no Ichiban Nagai Hi) is an action video game for the PlayStation 3 console. It was released on January 16, 2014, published by Bandai Namco. It was designed by Crispy's in collaboration with SUDA51 and Grasshopper Manufacture; Yohei Kataoka from Crispy's directed the game while SUDA51 wrote the story. Ranko Tsukigime's Longest Day is considered to be a part of Katsuhiro Otomo's 2013 anthology film Short Peace.
Gameplay[]
Most stages of the game involve Ranko running to the right of the stage, being chased. On the level's path are various enemies that can be defeated, which charges up Ranko's ammo in her sniper-violin, which can be used to shoot her pursuer if they get too close. There are multiple paths through the level, with the higher ones being generally better; Ranko can use momentum, sliding and wall-jumping to platform up to higher parts of the stage.
However, almost half of the 10 stages use somewhat different gameplay mechanics, usually for boss battles.
Story[]
Ranko Tsukigime's Longest Day follows the story of a girl named Ranko Tsukigime, who is the daughter of the owner of Tsukigime Enterprises, the world's largest parking garage company. Secretly, however, she is also an assassin who plans on killing her father to avenge her mother's death. Pursued by a collective known as The Veiled, she attempts to go about one of her normal missions, her target this time being the yakuza boss Manji Takahashi, but killing him sets off a bizarre chain of events regarding her and her friends' true forms.
