No More Heroes: World Ranker (No Moa Hirozu -Warudo Ranka-) is a social video game for Android[1] and iOS[2] touchscreen devices. It was developed by Grasshopper Manufacture and premiered in Japan on August 30, 2012. World Ranker is a free-to-play adaptation of the No More Heroes video game series, though it departs from Travis Touchdown's storyline by allowing players to create an assassin of their own to play a series of missions and face other players in online matches.
Development[]
World Ranker was announced in July 2011, when it was reported that Grasshopper had been working on a mobile No More Heroes title with Japanese social game developer DeNA.[3] While the title was set to premier exclusively in Japan on DeNA's Mobage phone platform, SUDA51 was hopeful that the game would make enough impact to secure to a Western release later. "We're aiming to make it the social game with the most blood," SUDA51 added.[3] The game first appeared on Android's Google Play marketplace on August 30, 2012,[1] and two months later on the Apple Store in October.[2] The game has since been delisted from both marketplaces and its official website has been taken offline.
