FROG MINUTES (フロッグミニッツ) is a puzzle video game for the iOS and Android platforms. Designed as a tribute to the 2011 earthquake which ruptured Japan, it was released to Apple's App Store on March 30, 2011, with proceeds of the game's sales being contributed to Japan's relief fund. It was later released to the Google Play Store on December 6, 2013. The game was directed by Tadayuki Nomaru and developed by Grasshopper Manufacture. FROG MINUTES was first announced only two days before release, on March 28, 2011. FROG MINUTES is a simple, open-ended experience where the player's only objective is to feed critters such as grasshoppers and flies to frogs, until their appetites are full enough that they can be caught. FROG MINUTES contains a total of 10 frogs and five unique critters for them to eat; these 15 creatures have a dedicated "Field Guide" entry, which can be read to them by the narrator, who occasionally encourages the player during the hunt as well. FROG MINUTES also challenges players to meet 50 different gameplay milestones; doing so completes a puzzle-styled picture of a frog, filled as these milestones are met, in addition to unlocking the game's sole Game Centre achievement.
