ELECTROLITE

ELECTROLITE is the name of Garcian Smith's silenced Walther PPK handgun. It can shoot five bullets before needing to be reloaded and is not very powerful, as Garcian's job is a cleaner and he is not prepared for fighting. Rather, its high rate of fire, reload speed and steady aim reflect its role as a supporting sidearm; since many enemies in the game can be instant-killed with a single precise hit to a weakpoint, this makes ELECTROLITE a surprisingly useful combat tool if not a mainstay weapon.

Throughout the game Garcian used this handgun to fend off Heaven Smiles while making his way to a persona to revive. Near the end of the game, he replaces it with the Golden Gun; it is unknown if he hangs on to the ELECTROLITE after this.

Namesake

"Electrolite" is the name of a song by the band R.E.M. "Electrolite" includes the lyrics "your eyes are burning holes through me", possibly referring to Emir Parkreiner's third eye or glowing green eyes. The song's themes involve the end of the 20th century, which is also a major theme of The Silver Case.
