The Department of Defense is a location in killer7. It is briefly featured at the beginning of the first half of Target01: Sunset when several top military officials discover 200 missiles have been fired towards Japan. Chief of Staff Spencer alerts the President and asks for his decision on whether or not to launch the Fireworks, but the President's decision is not heard.

Comparisons with the Pentagon

• The building's appearance is obviously based on the real-life Pentagon, which is the headquarters of the U.S. military. However, whereas the Pentagon is in reality a five-sided ring-shaped building, the fictional Department of Defense is depicted as being shaped like a five-sided star with a pentagonal hollow center.
• While killer7's map screen mentions the Department of Defense as being located in Washington, DC, the real-life Pentagon is in fact located in Arlington, VA, only a few hundred metres from the state border with the District of Columbia.

Trivia

• As with the above image, the building is a pentagram, which is presented at an angle of inverse (turned upside down.) This symbology, along with the popular notion of representing The Devil, truly represents the inverse of man's nature. This lends to the allusion of the U.S. government's nefarious agenda.
