Coyote Smith is a character in killer7, one of the playable protagonists and a persona of Garcian Smith.

Appearance and Personality

Coyote sports a pompadour and various wild shirts; Suda51 has stated that Coyote was designed with the yankii aesthetic in mind, taken after Japanese high school hooligans. His movements are extremely strange, as he has a tendency to hold his gun almost upside down when he points it, and the motions he makes with his arms when picking a lock are akin to doing up one's fly. Coyote is probably the most aggressive and indiscriminately violent member of the group; this is reflected in his gleeful shout of "You're fucked!" upon getting a critical hit. Coyote shares a fierce rivalry with Dan Smith, and serves as a sort of older brother figure to Con Smith. Iwazaru shows a particular distaste for him, even questioning whether or not he should be allowed to be a member of the killer7.

Story

As a real human, Coyote was killed by Dan Smith. However, he was rescued by the resurrecting powers of Harman Smith, who then recruited him to his killer7 assassin organization, serving the group with his agility and infiltration skills. He eventually dies when Emir Parkreiner murders the entire killer7, absorbing their personae into himself. The boy confronts Coyote on the fifth floor of the Hotel Union, catching him in his underwear; Coyote, however, barricades himself in his room and waits for Emir to enter, planning to shoot him when he does, failing to realise that Emir has navigated the scaffolding and manoeuvred behind him, whereupon he kills him easily. As a backlash to this failing, Coyote himself gains the ability to reach places inaccessible to others.

When the killer7 faces off with the Handsome Men in Broadway, New York, Coyote wins his fight with Handsome Gold.

Coyote presumably ceases to exist when his persona is killed by a Black Smile in the gymnasium of Coburn Elementary School.

Powers and Abilities

Coyote is required at several points throughout the game, as he is the only member of the killer7 capable of picking locks. He is also able to use his jumping powers (which, if the in-game text is to be believed, border on limited flight) in order to reach high landings the others cannot. His revolver is also capable of firing a special charged shot described as a "custom magnum shell," similar to but weaker than Dan Smith's Collateral Shot.

• Iwazaru says that the modifications Coyote has made to his pistol are in violation of several international laws.
• Hand in killer7 states that Coyote speaks Kansai-ben, the somewhat rough dialect of southeastern Japan.
• Although where in particular is never stated, Coyote is from somewhere in South America, and is of Puerto Rican descent.
