ICHIGO Aota (青田イチゴ, Aota ICHIGO), better known by her pseudonym Blueberry, is a character in both installments of the No More Heroes video game series. She is not connected to the plot of either game however; instead appearing in the recurring fictional anime Pure White Lover Bizarre Jelly. Introducing herself in the field as "Blue Flash Blueberry," she pilots Glaston 2, a dark-colored aerial battle mecha. Her weapon is a blue goblet-tipped staff, while her signature mecha attack is referred to as "Blueberry Cheese Brownie."

Story[]

ICHIGO Aota is the president of the student council. When her fellow schoolmate Ichigo Beniyama is unexpectedly confessed to by the school's cutest and most popular boy, Jishū Heiankyō, her life is placed in mortal danger as the jealous wrath of all the school's girls begin. In the following days, the girls at school give Beniyama trouble, culminating with her being called behind the school one afternoon. Here she is greeted by a mob of angry girls who intend to either cripple or kill her, but luckily, two girls come to her rescue: ICHIGO Aota and treasurer secretary Ichiko Kigawa. With a quick and precise explanation, they are able to save Beniyama from being lynched. Aota, Beniyama and Kigawa go on to form Bizarre Jelly as Blueberry, Strawberry and Cranberry, respectively.

Appearance[]

Initially in Pure White Lover Bizarre Jelly, Blueberry wears a pointed hat and glasses, with a collar and necktie. Her gloves are black and purple, and her purple shorts and top do little to cover her torso. Her boots are also black and sport long, white inverted crosses.

For Bizarre Jelly 5, the anime's incarnation in No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle, Blueberry's appearance changes radically. She no longer wears glasses over her eyes, which have changed from purple to pink, and her pointed hat and necktie are also absent. She also now wears a white bra and white shorts, and her gloves have become entirely purple. She has also opted out her black boots for greenish leggings. Lime green rings now scale her wrists and ankles as well.

Trading cards[]

Blueberry appears on two trading cards in the Design Materials set of No More Heroes. These are Trading Card No. 115 and Trading Card No. 117.
