The Beat Attack is a technique in both installments of the No More Heroes video game series performed by pressing the B Button. It is also possible to insert Beat Attacks in between Slash Combos, though at times this can result in a dizzying uppercut or kick that sends the enemy backwards, putting an end to the Slash Combo. Holding the B Button briefly before releasing it unleashes a stronger Charged Beat Attack. Beat Attacks will allow the user to confuse and render an enemy dizzied allowing the player to follow up with either a throw or Death Blow. In No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle, players can perform Beat Attacks in-between Slash Combos without ending the Slash Combo. Here, Beat Attacks become slightly faster and stronger, dealing a modest amount of damage, and vary depending on Slashing Stance, enemy positioning and the beam katana equipped.
